ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to grant a police protection for the petitioners and revenue officials life and limb at the time of surveying the property in Survey No.1518/2, 1518/3 and 1518/4 measuring 0.20.0 hectare situated at Keezhaneelithanallur, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tenkasi district.

2. Since no adverse order is passed against the respondents 3 to 9, notice to the respondents 3 to 9 is dispensed with.

3. The petitioners seek police protection only for the purpose of conducting survey of the aforesaid land. However, the 2nd respondent police before coming to a conclusion as to the basics on which the petitioners are seeking police protection, is directed to put the 2/4

petitioners as well as the respondents 3 to 9 on notice under Section 64 BNSS and require the respective parties to produce all necessary documents to substantiate their title over the subject property. If the claim of the petitioners is found to be true, the respondent police is directed to afford necessary police protection for conducting survey of the subject property on payment of necessary charges in terms of G.O(Ms)No.139, Home (Pol-VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019.

4. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
