PRAYER: Petition is filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, r/w Section 981 of CPC, to reopen the Contempt Petition (MD)No. 1283 of 2019.

ORDER
This petition has been filed to reopen the Contempt Petition (MD)No.1283 of 2019.
2. Heard Ms.Rooshi Mass, learned counsel, for M/s.Isaac Chambers, appearing for the Petitioner and Mr.D.Sadiq Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the Respondents.

Today, when the matter is being taken up, Mr.D.Sadiq Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader for the Respondents, produced an order dated 19.06.2025, passed by the Chief Educational Officer, Kanyakumari District / 1st Respondent and submits that the Respondents have complied with the order of the Writ Court dated 31.07.2018 passed in 2/6
W.P.(MD)No.16932 of 2018. A copy of the said order has been taken on record and the same has been furnished to the learned counsel for the Petitioner. He also assures this Court that the monetary benefits due will be paid to the Petitioner within a period of six weeks from today. Therefore, he prays that the Respondents may be discharged from the contempt proceedings.

Ms.Rooshi Mass, learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that she has received the copy of the order dated 19.06.2025 and submits that the direction issued by the Writ Court vide judgment and order dated 31.07.2018 passed in W.P.(MD)No.16932 of 2018 has been fully complied with. The learned counsel requests that, as assured by the Additional Government Pleader, the monetary benefits be paid within six weeks. Accordingly, she has no objection to the Respondents being discharged from the contempt proceedings at this stage.
5. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the Respondents, and upon perusal of the order dated 19.06.2025 passed by 3/6
the Chief Educational Officer, Kanyakumari, this Court is satisfied that the Respondents have fully complied with the judgment and order of the Writ Court 31.07.2018 passed in W.P.(MD)No.16932 of 2018. The learned Additional Government Pleader has also assured that the monetary benefits will be disbursed within a period of six weeks from today. In view of the assurance given by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose the present petition, as no useful purpose would be served by keeping them pending. Accordingly, the Respondents are discharged from the contempt proceedings at this stage.
6. In view of the above, the Sub Application is disposed of with a direction to the Respondents to disburse the monetary benefits to the Petitioner, within a period of six weeks from today, without fail.
