PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to correct the extent of property in Town Survey No.5, New Block 20, now New Ward J, Trichy Corporation, D.No.53, Shanmuga Nagar, West Extension, Uiyakondanthirumalai, Trichy, as 0.0165.5 Sq.m by conducting enquiry based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.01.2021 after hearing the interested parties.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 16.01.2021 and to correct the extent of property in the Town Survey land register.

2. Heard Mr.T.A.Ebenezer, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, Mr.R.Ragavendran, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.R.Baskaran, learned Standing Counsel for M/s.K.B.Associates, appearing for the respondents 2 to 5.

3. It is seen from the records that the petitioner is relying upon a sale deed, dated 21.02.1994 which shows that the petitioner has purchased 1200 square feet. However, a wrong entry has been made in the Town Survey land register and the petitioner is seeking for correcting the same.

4. The correction in the Town Survey land register cannot be made by any of the respondents in this Writ petition. The petitioner has to make a representation before the concerned Tahsildar in this regard and seek for the correction in the Town Survey land register. As and when the petitioner makes such a representation before the concerned Tahsildar, the Tahsildar shall take into consideration the title deed of the petitioner and make the correct entry in the Town Survey land register.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above terms. No costs.
