O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant a free house site patta in favour of the petitioner in Survey No.356/1, situated at Keelaikudi, Ilayangudi Village, Sivagangai - 630702, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.02.2026, within the time period stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that in the year 1994, her husband constructed a house in the subject property. After the demise of her husband, the petitioner has been residing in the said property. The petitioner is a houseless person. The land is classified as Government Natham Poramboke. Therefore, the petitioner, as well as her husband during his lifetime, had taken steps to obtain a free house site patta. However, no such patta was granted. The petitioner recently submitted a representation dated 19.02.2026 to the respondent seeking grant of a free house site patta. However, no action has been taken thereon. Page No. 2 of 5

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 19.02.2026 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.02.2026, conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The respondents are also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order.
