Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection for conduct the kovil festival along with Kummiyadi to be held on 21.02.2026 to 02.03.2026 between 07.00 p.m., and 11.00 p.m., in Arulmigu Sri Manikkanatchiamman Temple @ Araliparai Murugan Temple, Muranikulam, Nerkuppai Village, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.02.2026.

ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection for conduct the kovil festival along with Kummiyadi to be held on 21.02.2026 to 02.03.2026 between 07.00 p.m., and 11.00 p.m., in Arulmigu Sri Manikkanatchiamman Temple @ Araliparai Murugan Temple, Muranikulam, Nerkuppai Village, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.02.2026. 2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents submitted there are two groups, who are seeking to conduct Kummiyadi on the same date. Hence, the respondents are apprehending law and order problem.

3.In view of the above submission, this Court directs the respondents Police to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.02.2026 and grant permission on 28.02.2026 between 07.00 p.m., and 11.00 p.m. for conducting the kovil festival along with Kummiyadi at Arulmigu Sri Manikkanatchiamman Temple @ Araliparai Murugan Temple, Muranikulam, Nerkuppai Village, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District. In respect of rival group, the respondents Police are directed to consider the rival group's representation and fix another date. The respondent shall give police protection by imposing all the usual conditions.

4.With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
