ORDER

By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The petitioner's passport is not being renewed only on the ground that a criminal case is pending against the writ petitioner. It is seen that the said criminal case is pending only at the FIR stage. Pendency of FIR is not a ground for non renewal of passport. In this view of the matter, the respondent is directed to renew the petitioner's passport subject to fulfillment of all other formalities. This writ petition is allowed. No costs.
