Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.36,20,000/- with interest at the rate of 18% from the date of completion of work till the realization of money and Rs.50,00,000/- as compensation to the petitioner based on his representation dated 21.02.2024 within the time frame as fixed by this Court. ORDER

The petitioner had carried out contractual works for the respondent department. Since the bill amount has not been settled, the present writ petition has been filed.

2.The first respondent is directed to settle the petitioner's bill amount within a period of three months from the receipt of a copy of this order. If the amount is paid within this period, it will not carry interest. If the first respondent fails to pay the petitioner's bill amount within the time stipulated 2/4

above, it will carry interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date when the original cause of action arose.
