Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant permission and protection for the "Panguni Pongal Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Mariamman Kovil at T.N.Pudukudi Village, Puliyangudi Taluk, Tenkasi District and cultural event, namely, Adal Padal scheduled to be held on 07.04.2021 at night based on the petitioner's representation, dated 19.03.2021. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for the respondents. 3.In view of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.342, dated 08.04.2021, the permission and police protection cannot be granted for the events mentioned in that petition. Hence, the Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
