PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to produce the person or body of the detenue, the petitioner's daughter Lingammal aged 40 years, before this Court and set her at liberty. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner, seeking production of his daughter, namely, Lingammal, aged about 40 years, has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition. 2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the respondent Police has produced the detenue, namely, Lingammal. When we enquired, she submitted that though she already married, due to the strained relationship, she left the matrimonial home and had been living with her father / petitioner herein for some years. According to the detenue, her father / petitioner had also not treated the detenue well and there has been some torture faced by the detenue at the hands of her father. Therefore, she left the father's house and she is residing in her friend's house at 2/4

Coimbatore, where she is doing some household works for her livelihood and she is inclined to stay there and does not want to go with her father / petitioner.

3.The statement made by the detenue has been recorded. In view of the aforestated, we feel that there has been no illegal custody as alleged by the petitioner.
