ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant selection grade to the petitioner with effect from 11.12.2007 and re-fix the scale of pay of the petitioner along with other consequential benefits by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.09.2018.

2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed in the post of Secondary Grade Teacher on 26.07.1995 and he was promoted to the post of Primary School Headmaster on 11.12.1997 and he had completed 10 years of service in the above said post. Therefore, he is entitled to get the selection grade with effect from 11.12.2007. However the same was not provided to the petitioner. Hence, he made several representations and finally on 08.09.2018 seeking to provide selection grade benefit. Since the same was not considered so far, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner would be considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

5. Considering the nature of the relief as sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the petitioner's case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.09.2018, seeking to provide selection grade benefit and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
