ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to trace out the gift deed in Document No.841/1998 dated 04.08.1998 or to issue non-traceable certificate regarding the missing gift deed.

2. It is seen that the petitioner's father executed a gift deed in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property in S.F.Nos.361/1A, 361/1B, 363/2C situated at Venkataramanajupuram, Udangudi, Thoothukudi District registered as Document No.841 of 1998 dated 04.08.1998. Thereafter, the petitioner was in possession and enjoyment of the above property. In order to dispose the said property, he went to take photocopy of the original gift deed and other documents and he found the original gift deed missing. Therefore, he lodged a complaint before the respondent police on 27.07.2020 and the same is pending. He also made paper publication with regard to the missing of original gift deed as early as on 01.08.2020.

3. In view of the above, the respondent is directed to conduct enquiry and issue non-traceable certificate to the petitioner, after ensuring that the said document has not been deposited for any purpose, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
