O R D E R

The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to disburse the arrears of Freedom Fighters' Pension from 15.08.1997 to 07.09.2009 payable to the deceased father of the petitioner "M.Nallathambi", in the light of the order dated 25.02.2014 made in W.P.(MD) No.7946 of 2010 and confirmed by the Honourable Division Bench of this Court by Judgment dated 17.10.2019 made in W.A.(MD) No.1428 of 2017 and as per the representation of the petitioner dated 01.12.2020.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.H.Velavadhas, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, appearing for the respondent submitted that the relief sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous as the respondent has sanctioned the arrears of freedom fighters pension payable to the petitioner's father and to that effect, he has also produced a copy of the proceedings of the respondent, dated 08.07.2021. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. The above fact is also acknowledged by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

4. Recording the above submissions of the learned counsel on either side as well as the proceedings of the respondent, dated 08.07.2021, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
