ORDER

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the petitioner's revision petition dated 02.08.2016 on merits within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

2. I have heard Mr.V.S.S.Ramkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

3. The petitioner with regard to his grievance of fixing the seniority, approached the Commissioner of Revenue Administration, who in turn having considered the same, rejected his claim by order dated 04.04.2016, as against which the petitioner has filed the revision petition before the respondent (i.e.,) the Secretary to Government, Revenue Department dated 02.08.2016 and the same is still pending with the respondent. Therefore, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, if a direction is given to the respondent to decide the said revision petition and pass orders thereon within the time frame fixed by this Court, the petitioner would be satisfied.

4. Mr.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the revision petition is of the year 2016 and probably, the respondent would now have disposed the case. If at all, the same is not disposed, it will be considered and disposed on merits by the respondent within the time frame fixed by this Court.

5. Taking into account, the said submissions made by both the counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the respondent, this Writ Petition is disposed with the following direction:- "that the respondent is directed to consider the revision petition filed by the petitioner dated 02.08.2016, if it is not already considered and decided, with regard to the service grievance and fixation of seniority, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."

However there shall be no order as to costs.
