ORDER

With the consent of the counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner seeks limited relief of disposal of the appeal pending with the second respondent right from 26.12.2020.

4. The petitioner had filed an application for cancellation of patta issued to the fourth respondent. However, the same was rejected by the revenue authorities, as against which, an appeal has been preferred before the second respondent. The petitioner has also sent a reminder on 24.06.2024 seeking early disposal of the said appeal, besides making 2/5

several application under the Right to Information Act to know the current status of the pending appeal.

5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for, it would suffice to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the second respondent to consider and pass orders, on merits and dispose of the appeal dated 26.12.2020 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
