JUDGMENT
DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.
R.POORNIMA , J.
The writ appeal is preferred against the order passed by the learned Single Judge dismissing the application of the appellant seeking compassionate appointment.
2.The appellant, who lost his father on 14.09.2001 when he was four years old and he made an application for compassionate appointment on 13.11.2013 that is nearly 12 years after his father's demise and before he attained majority. The
said application was rejected by the fourth respondent on 08.09.2017. Challenging the said rejection order, a writ petition filed seeking Certiorarified Mandamus to quash the rejection order and directing the respondents to provide compassionate appointment. The learned Single Judge, relying upon the judgment of this Court rendered in W.A.No.3899 of 2019(P.Poongodi-Vs-The Chairman), had dismissed the writ petition stating that the compassionate appointment is only to mitigate the sudden demise of the employee and the same cannot be considered after long lapse of time.
3.This Court wholly in agreement with the reasoning given by the learned Single Judge dismissing the writ petition. Hence, the Writ Appeal stands dismissed. No costs.
