Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to approve and forward the Petitioner's Revised Pension Proposal dated 24.08.2012 to the 3rd respondent and direct the 3rd respondent to calculate the monetary benefits and arrears accrued to the petitioner accordingly and to sanction and pay the 1/4

said revised pension amounts along with accrued arrears to the petitioner along with applicable interests within a time frame stipulated by this Court. ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner seeks revision of his pension. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader stated that the department had also submitted a proposal before the Government way back in the year 2014. The first respondent is directed to pass orders on the proposal submitted by the department within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner's entitlement to other benefits will abide by the decision to be taken by the first respondent. The petitioner is aged about 90 years. Therefore, it is expected that the first respondent will adhere to the time line stipulated by this Court or do not file any petition for extension of time or drive the petitioner to file contempt 2/4

petition before this Court. It is made clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter.
