PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents 2 and 3 herein to conduct a thorough inquiry into the affairs and management of the Arulmigu Sri Mutharaman Temple located at Anaiyur Village, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District and to take appropriate action against the 6th respondent for any irregularities or violations found in the installation of new deities, handling of temple funds and exclusion of the petitioner from temple activities and to ensure that the petitioner is not excluded from participating in the upcoming Kumbabhishegam ceremony on 15.03.2024 and is allowed to pay the required taxes and participate in the temple activities without any discrimination, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2024 and 08.03.2024 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court. ORDER
The petitioner has approached this Court alleging that the 6th respondent, who is conducting Kumbhabisekam festival, has refused to collect "Thalaikattu Vari" in order to prevent him from participating in the Kumbhabisekam festival and he has also been discriminated by them.
2. Mr.H.Lakshmi Shankar, learned counsel takes notice for the 6th respondent and submits that there is a Committee for conducting Kumbhabisekam festival and the 6th respondent is one among the Committee Members and this Committee is not discriminating anybody. He further submits that the petitioner can very well pay "Thalaikattu Vari" either in person or in the account number of the Committee. He assures that the account number of the Committee 3/6
will be communicated to the petitioner for payment of Thalaikattu Vari.
3. Recording the said submissions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
