O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned order passed by the second respondent, dated 21.04.2018 and consequently, direct the Respondents to grant permission and adequate police protection to conduct the Kabadi Tournament in the ground situating at Anuppanadi Poosari Complex, Anuppanadi, Madurai City from 28.04.2018 at about 06.00 p.m., to 29.04.2018 at about 10.00 p.m.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

According to the petitioner, he made a representation to the second respondent to grant permission and adequate police protection to conduct the Kabadi Tournament in the ground situating at Anuppanadi Poosari Complex, Anuppanadi, Madurai City from 28.04.2018 at about 06.00 p.m., to 29.04.2018 at about 10.00 p.m. The said application was rejected on the ground that if the permission is granted, it will create a law and order problem. Challenging the aforesaid order, the present writ petition has been filed.

4.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

counsel for the petitioner has fairly stated that the said writ petition has become infructuous as the schedule date is already over. Since the second respondent has passed an order rejecting the representation of the petitioner and therefore, seeks liberty to make a fresh application before the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thirupparankundram.

In view of the aforesaid statement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to approach the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thirupparankundram seeking for permission. If any such representation is received, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thirupparankundram shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
