By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.Heard Mr.G.M.Xavier, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Sivaraman, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

3.The petitioner seeks for a direction upon the respondents to settle the remaining terminal benefits of Rs.3,12,130/- and dues on commutation.

4.Though, such a positive direction has been sought for by the petitioner, in the light of the fact that the writ petition has been disposed of at the admission stage, this Court is inclined to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 19.03.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
