ORDER

It is the case of the petitioner that one Periyasamy, the accused received Rs.40,000/- on the promise of getting a job for the petitioner in abroad. After receiving Rs.40,000/-, the said Periyasamy cheated the petitioner. On the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the Sub Inspector of Police, Aruppukottai Taluk Police Station, registered a case in Crime No.234 of 2016 on 28.07.2016 under Section 420 IPC against Periyasamy. While so, the petitioner has filed the present petition for a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.234 of 2016 expeditiously.

2. Today, Mr.R.Ganesan, Special Sub Inspector, Aruppukottai Taluk Police Station, Virudhungar District, is present. The Inspector of Police, Aruppukottai Taluk Circle, has filed a status report, wherein he has stated the steps that are being taken by https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

him to apprehend the accused. It is further stated in the status report that the accused has returned Rs.20,000/- to the petitioner on 29.03.2017 by bank transaction.

3. Taking into consideration the averments in the status report, this Court is of the view that in the interest of justice, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Aruppukottai Sub Division, is directed to monitor the investigation in Aruppukottai Taluk Police Station in Crime No.234 of 2016.

4. This criminal original petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Aruppukottai Sub Division, to monitor the investigation in Aruppukottai Taluk Police Station in Cr.No.234 of 2016 and the Inspector of Police, Aruppukottai Taluk Police Station, Virudhunagr District, is directed to expeditiously conduct the investigation in Crime No.234 of 2016 and take action in accordance with law.
