This writ petition has been filed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.03.2019 to grant permission, police protection of Devendrakula Velalar Chithirai Venkudai festival in connection with Sri Neerukatha Ayyanar Kovil festival on 14.04.2019, 15.04.2019 including cultural programme of 15.04.2019 at nearly Ananda Lodge, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 and the learned counsel for the fifth respondent.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submitted that the function is on a National Highway and if the venue is changed the petitioner's request for permission to conduct the festival may be favorably considered by the second respondent.

4. Accordingly, the petitioner is now required to give a fresh representation changing the venue to the sixth respondent, who shall consider the request and pass such appropriate orders thereon not later than 10.04.2019.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
