Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to conclude the departmental proceedings initiated in pursuance of the charge memo issued by the second respondent in his proceedings dated 05.07.2017 and 08.08.2017 and consequently to direct the respondents to pass final orders after providing opportunity to the petitioner on or before the date of superannuation i.e. 30.06.2018 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 03.04.2018 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

Heard Mr.S.Kameswaran, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Sivaraman, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents.

2. By consent on either side, the writ petition is taken up for disposal.

3. The petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondents to conclude the departmental proceedings intiated against the petitoner pursuant to the proceedings dated 05.07.2017 and 08.08.2017. The petitioner is stated to have given a reply to the charge memos. Further, enquiry is yet to be commenced and since the petitioner is to attain age of superannuation on 30.06.2018, he has given a representation to the respondent to conclude the departmental proceedings at an early date and no order has been passed on his representation.

4. With these facts, the petitioner prays for a direction to the respondents to conclude the proceedings.

5. Having noted the nature of charges, which have been framed against the petitioner and also that the petitioner has given his reply to the charge memos and he is to attain the age of superannuation on 30.06.2018, a direction is issued to the second respondent to conclude the departmental proceedings and pass final orders on or before 15.06.2018.

6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
