: Respondents Prayer : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure praying to direct the second respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.291 of 2016 on the file of the second respondent police and to file final report, within the time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

Mr.V.Govindarajan, Sub-Inspector of Police, Samayapuram Police Station, Trichy District, is present.

2. On the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police has registered a case in Crime No.291 of 2016 on 17.07.2016 for offences under Section 279 and 337 of the Indian Penal Code against unknown accused. While so, the petitioner has filed the present petition for a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation, within a time frame.

3. In a case of this nature, where the petitioner has been injured in a motor vehicle accident and further, the name of the accused is not known, it will not be appropriate for this Court to issue a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in a time bound manner. police is directed to expeditiously conduct the investigation in Crime No.291 of 2016 and take action in accordance with law.

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
