O R D E R

On the complaint lodged by the third respondent, the second respondent registered a case in Crime No.247 of 2015 under Sections 294(b), 324 and 506(i) of the Indian Penal Code r/w 3(1) (x) SC/ST Act against the petitioner, to quash which, both parties are present before this Court on the ground that they have arrived at the compromise.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, Ms.A.Jaichitra, Sub-Inspector of Police, Usilampatti Taluk Police Station, Madurai District, is present. Both parties are also present before this Court and their identifications were verified by this Court, in addition to the confirmation of the identity of the parties by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) through Ms.A.Jaichitra, Sub-Inspector of Police, Usilampatti Taluk Police Station, Madurai District.

3. The petitioner and the third respondent have filed a joint

compromise memo dated 07.03.2017, wherein, they have stated as follows:

"3. It is submitted that now on the advise of their close relatives both the petitioner and the defacto complainant have entered into compromise with regard to the said case and they themselves settle their disputes amicably. Therefore, the 3rd respondent does not want to proceed with the case further and he has no objections to quash the Charge sheet."

4. In view of the joint memo of compromise dated 07.03.2017, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the matter pending. Therefore, the entire proceedings in Spl.S.C. No.24 of 2016 on the file of the III Additional District Court (PCR Court), Madurai are hereby quashed.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed on the basis of the compromise entered into between the parties. The joint compromise memo dated 07.03.2017 shall form part of this order.
