M.Sathuran :2nd Respondent/Proposed Accused PRAYER: Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code to direct the respondent police to provide police protection to the petitioner as well as his family members against the life threat from the second respondent and ensure that no untoward incident would be happened to them, on the basis of his complaint dated 20.12.2016.

It is seen that the petitioner is the practising Advocate and that he has filed the petition on the ground that there is a threat to his life from the second respondent.

2. Heard Mr.T.Indra Chithu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Anbarasan, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), appearing for the first respondent.

3. M/s.V.Jeyalakshmi, Sub-Inspector of Police, Y.Othakadai Police Station, Madurai District, is present in Court today. On instructions, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that the petitioner had taken money from the second respondent on the promise of getting job for the children of the second respondent in the Income Tax Department under the Sports Quota and that he has also received Rs.3,80,000/-. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. Per contra, Mr.T.Indra Chithu, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner himself acted as a Mediator between the second respondent and another person.

5. In the considered opinion of this Court, the fact remains that the petitioner himself is in cloud of suspicion and, therefore, the relief as sought for by the petitioner is misconceived.

6. In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
