Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to promote the petitioner notionally to the post of Assistant Inspector General of Registration with effect from 27.09.2013 and other consequential retirement and monetary benefits by considering the petitioner's representation dated 14.02.2022 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This writ petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.02.2022 and pass orders within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the second respondent.

3. The petitioner made the representation dated 14.02.2022, to promote the petitioner notionally as Assistant Inspector General of Registration with other consequential retirement and monetary benefits. However, the respondents have not taken any steps to grant notional promotion till date.

4. The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice, if the representation of the petitioner dated 14.02.2022, is disposed of by the first respondent within a time frame as stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14.02.2022, and pass appropriate orders on its own merit and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The writ petition stands disposed with the above direction. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 21.10.2024 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No PKN 3/4
