Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members and member of Scheduled Caste Community residing in Ambedkar Nagar, Neduvasal East, Alangudi Taluk, on the basis of the representation submitted by him, dated 05.04.2019, in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members and member of Scheduled Caste Community residing in Ambedkar Nagar, Neduvasal East, Alangudi Taluk, on the basis of the representation submitted by the petitioner, dated 05.04.2019, in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner belongs to Scheduled Caste Community and his son eloped with one Nanthini, D/o.Rathinavel, who belongs to Hindu Vellalar Community. On 03.04.2019, the relatives of Nandhini along with members of Kallar Community belong to Karkakurichi East Village came to the petitioner's house with 30 members and threatened and abused him in filthy language by mentioning his caste name. Again, on 05.04.2019, the said persons came to the petitioner's Village and threatened his family members and members of Scheduled Caste Community that if they did not hand over the said Nanthini to them, they will set fire in the petitioner's Village and kill all the members of Scheduled Caste Community, residing in Ambedkar Nagar, Neduvasal East, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai.
Therefore, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 05.04.2019 to the respondents 1 & 4 to 9, but, till date, the said representation was not considered by them. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by way of filing the present Writ Petition. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), on instructions, submitted that the girl's brother has also filed a complaint before the respondent police and the same was registered against the petitioner's son, for the offence punishable under Section 366 IPC, on 04.04.2019 in Crime No.75 of 2019. Since there are rival complaints pending before the Law Enforcing Agency, the same will be considered in the manner known to law. 4.
