ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members to protect their life and limb from the fifth respondent and their associate on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 09.03.2018.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the official respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner faces threat to his life and limb at the hands of the fifth respondent.

4.For the present, if the petitioner alleges that he faces threat to his life and liberty from the fifth respondent, he is directed to give a fresh complaint to the third respondent and on such fresh complaint, the third respondent is directed to cause such necessary enquiry on the complaint filed by the petitioner and take such appropriate decision as may be necessary to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner. It is made clear that this Court does not order granting of police protection 24 x 7 and the third respondent is left to decide on the basis of the objective assessment of the threat perception of the petitioner from time to time.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
