ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to issue a direction directing the 1st respondent herein to transfer the investigation in Crime No.1655 of 2023 from the file of the 2nd respondent to any other investigation officer for free and fair investigation in the light of petitioner's representation dated 20.02.2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the de-facto complainant who had lodged a complaint before the second respondent police, regarding the cheating committed by one Govindaraj to the tune of Rs.80,00,000/- and on questioning, he has threatened the petitioner with dire consequences. On the basis of his complaint a case in Crime No.1655 of 2023 was registered for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(1) and 420 of IPC. However, there is no progress in the investigation. Hence this petition.

3. Learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) submitted that in the present case, investigation is going on and the same will be concluded within a short span of time.

In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate(Crl.side), this Court directs the second respondent police to expedite the investigation and complete the same within a period of four weeks. The first respondent is directed to monitor the ongoing investigation, by the second respondent police and the second respondent police is directed to appraise the progress in the investigation every Friday to the first respondents.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
