ORDER

It is an application seeking a direction to the respondents to provide police protection for the petitioner and his family members on the basis of his representation, dated 04.07.2016, for conducting Vinayagar Chathurthi Mandagapadi and Agavai Arubathu Aranba Aaul Homa Vila" in "Sri Athmanaanthas Swami Madalayam" at Nagudi, Aranthangi, Pudukkottai District, to be conducted on 05.09.2016.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondents. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's family has been conducting "Vinayagar Chathurthi Mandagapadi and Agavai Arubathu Aranba Aaul Homa Vila" in "Sri Athmanaanthas Swami Madalayam" at Nagudi, Aranthangi, Pudukkottai District for the past 40 years; in the year 2012 one Adiyan and others created law and order problem during such celebration; therefore, in the yesteryears, the petitioner sought for Police protection and the respondents also granted police protection to the petitioner for conducting such festival on 24.07.2014 in Na.Ka.No.68/Eo/Atg/RTI/2014 and on 12.11.2015 in Na.Ka.No.G1/26969/RTI-APL/2015; now for this year, the petitioner has sent his representation as early as on 04.07.2016 seeking Police protection; even then, the same has not yet been considered by the respondents; and hence, the petitioner has come up with this petition.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents, on instructions, would submit that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits. 5.In view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 04.07.2016 in the light of the earlier orders passed by them dated 24.07.2014 and 12.11.2015, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith as the festival is scheduled to be held on 05.09.2016.
