Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection to conduct Sri Valli Thirumanam Drama scheduled to be held on 09.04.2021, Karuppasamy Bakthi Nadagam on 10.04.2021 and cultural programmes on 11.04.2021 in connection with the festival of Arulmigu Sri Kamba Kamatchiamman Temple and Sri Karuppaswamy Temple at Mudalaikulam Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2.Ms.Jessi Jeeva Priya, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is one of the Members of the festival committee of Arulmigu Sri Kamba Kamatchiamman Temple and Sri Karuppaswamy Temple at Mudalaikulam Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District and that Sri Valli Thirumanam Drama is 1/3
scheduled to be held on 28.03.2021, Karuppasamy Bakthi Nadagam on 10.04.2021 and cultural programmes on 11.04.2021. Her further contention is that the petitioner submitted a representation dated 25.03.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said Drama and till date no action has been taken. 3.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would contend that the Deputy Superintendent of Police had already recommended the case of the petitioner to the second respondent/The Assistant Election Officer, Usilampatti Assembly Constituency and the second respondent has to take a call in this matter. 4.In the circumstances, the second respondent is at liberty to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law based on findings and on merits within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order.
5.With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
