Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus to direct the 1st respondent to produce the detenu by name Ramya aged about 19 years, daughter of Raja from the illegal custody of the 2nd respondent and produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.) https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ The petitioner is the father of one Ramya, whose date of birth is 26.04.1996. According to the petitioner, she has been

found missing from 17.07.2015 onwards and that she was illegally detained by the third respondent.

2. Today, the detenue Ramya has been produced before this Court by the first respondent. On enquiry, she would state that she married the 2nd respondent on 20.07.2015 in Chennai and now she has been happily living with him as his wife. She would further state that she has not been illegally detained by anybody and now she wants to go with the 2nd respondent.

3. The petitioner and his wife Anandhi are also present before this Court. Since he wanted to speak to the detenue, in the larger interest of both parties, this Court permitted them to go before the Mediation and Conciliation Centre. Accordingly, the detenue, the respondents 2 and 3, the petitioner and his wife went before the Mediation Centre. Now, it has been reported that in the mediation, the detenue insisted that she only go with the 2nd respondent.

4. In view of the above, since Ramya is a major, she is set at liberty and she is at liberty to go with the 2nd respondent.

5. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
