ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to carry out the necessary name correction in Patta No.486, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.01.2026 within a reasonable time.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the subject property is ancestral in nature. During the process of sub-division, the petitioner's father's name namely, Daniel was included in the Patta and the petitioner's grandfather's name was wrongly entered in the joint Patta 'Anathonymuthu', who is the petitioner's father's brother instead of 'Rayappan'. Seeking necessary correction in the name, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 19.01.2026. Thereafter, no further action has been taken. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered
on merits and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law, after conducting an enquiry, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation 19.01.2026, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
