ORDER

This petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the Additional District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Manamadurai to dispose C.C.No.247/2001 in Cr.No.323/1999 within the stipulated time.

2.According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the case in C.C.No.247 of 2001 is pending before the Additional District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Manamadurai for more than 17 years and therefore, he filed the present Criminal Original Petition with the aforesaid prayer. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that some of the accused except second accused had absconded and thereafter, they were surrendered before the Magistrate Court.

4.In the above circumstances, this Court is inclined to direct the Additional District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Manamadurai, to dispose of the case in C.C.No.247 of 2001 as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if there is no legal impediments.
