Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's daughter namely, P.Uma Maheswari, aged 27 years, before this Court and set her at liberty. For Petitioner : Mr.T.Lajapathi Roy For RR 1 to 2 : Mr.K.S.Duraipandian Additional Public Prosecutor.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by V.S.RAVI,J] The petitioner is the mother of the detenue, namely P.Uma Maheswari, aged 27 years. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the detenue appeared before this Court and identified by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

2. The detenue asserted in open Court that at present she is working as Accountant in Pasumparai Tea Estate at Edukki, in Kerala State. She stated that no one has illegally detained her or harassed her. She further asserted that on 28.08.2015, a statement has been recorded by the Inspector of Police, Radhapuram Police Station. Before the said Police Station, she stated that no one has illegally detained her or harassed her. Now, she wants to go back to Edukki at Kerala State and willing to work as Accountant in the said Tea Estate and her present age is 29 years. The petitioner also heard the statement made by the detenue in open Court.

3. In such circumstances, there is no scope to pass any order as prayed for in this Habeas Corpus Petition. In the result, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands dismissed with liberty to the detenue to choose her own way of life.
