ORDER

The petitioner seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the third respondent, viz., The Thasildar, Papanasam, to cancel the patta issued in patta No. 92 and to consequently issue a fresh patta in the name of the petitioner.

2. I have heard the learned counsel on either side

3. The petitioner has given a representation in this regard through on-line on 09.12.2024 and he seeks disposal of the said representation dated 09.12.2024.

4. Today (i.e.,24.03.2025), when the matter is taken up for final hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader, Mrs.K.Malathi, would submit that the subject matter revolves around UDR correction and hence, the petitioner would have to make application before the District Revenue Officer, Kumbakonam. The District Revenue Officer, Kumbakonam is not arrayed as a party respondent in the writ petition. 2/4

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of, giving liberty to the petitioner to make an application before the the District Revenue Officer, Kumbakonam, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such application from the petitioner, the District Revenue Officer, Kumbakonam, shall conduct necessary enquiry, after affording opportunity to all interested parties including the petitioner and pass final orders within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.
