O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents to consider a representation given by the petitioner on 02.05.2022. The entire representation relates to land in T.S.No.77/1, Block-4, Ward -AO, Panjappur Village, Ponmalai Zone, Trichy West Taluk and District.

2.Heard Mr.K.Arunraj, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.N.Muthu Vijayan, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.

3.In the Town Survey Land Register, the name of the father of the petitioner, Govindan son of Vadamalai is found. However, in the computerised document, the name had been omitted. The petitioner, who is a daughter of Govindan, had given a representation. 2/5

4.The fourth respondent/Tahsildar, had conducted an enquiry. A report had been produced by the learned Special Government Pleader that on several occasions, the petitioner had not appeared for enquiry. 5.A duty is cast on the petitioner to appear for the enquiry. It is also seen that there are rival claimants, who have also given representations that the name of Govindan should be removed from the records. It is all the more reason, why the petitioner should participate in the enquiry, produce records and establish that her father had valid title and right to possess the land.

6.A direction is given to the fourth respondent to once again issue notice to the petitioner and also very specifically to Rengaraj and Venkatachalam sons of Periyasamy also residing at the same village and enquire into the entire aspects and pass necessary orders. If the records maintained manually reflect the name of the father of the petitioner, then without any proper reasons, the same cannot be deleted. That is one aspect, which has to be kept in mind by the fourth respondent, who may also give reasons for any order passed by him. The entire enquiry may be 3/5

completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
