PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to take appropriate action against the respondents 3 and 4 for the corruption indulged in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) based on the petitioner's representation dated 01.03.2023, within a time stipulated by this Court.

[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

2. Considering the seriousness of the allegations made in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and the materials that have been produced, we find that it is a fit case where an enquiry should be conducted by the appropriate Authority, namely, the District Collector, Tenkasi District.

Hence, there will be a mandamus directing the District Collector, Tenkasi District, to enquire into the allegations of the petitioner made in his representation, which has been referred in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a reasonable time.

3. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
