The petitioner seeks production of the person of his daughter, namely, Ananthi, aged about 17 years, who went missing from Michael Engineering College, Kalaiyarkovil, Sivagangai District.

2.According to the petitioner, though police registered the case of girl missing, no further action was taken. Hence, this Habeas Corpus Petition is filed.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, upon instructions, would submit that it is the case of love affair and the daughter of the petitioner had eloped with one Karthick.

H.C.P.(MD) No.503 of 2022 4.Considering the same, we do not think that there is any illegal custody as alleged by the petitioner. However, since the detenue appears to be a minor, the police are required to continue the investigation in the girl missing that has been registered to its logical conclusion. This Habeas Corpus Petition, therefore, is dismissed.
