ORDER
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Solicitor General appearing for the respondents.

2.The petitioner was originally issued with a passport in the year 1997. The validity of the passport got expired. The petitioner sought for renewal of his passport. Since, he did appear for the interview, the file got closed and the same was duly intimated to the petitioner vide letter dated 17.04.2015. The petitioner does not appear to have taken any steps thereafter. Therefore this Court permits the petitioner to file a fresh application before the first respondent, who shall consider the same in accordance with law.
3.It is seen that quite a few cases are pending against the writ petitioner. It appears that one sessions case is also pending against the writ petitioner before the Additional Session Court, Paramakudi. Therefore, the petitioner will have to move the jurisdictional Criminal Court for getting permission to travel abroad. It is not possible to grant any relief in this writ petition.
4.With this observation, the writ petition is closed. No costs.
