O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to give protection for the petitioner and her children, while living in the matrimonial house.

2.The petitioner got married to Prakash on 22.11.2009. But, unfortunately, her husband died. Thereafter, on the complaint given by the petitioner, the 2nd respondent registered a case in Crime No.28/2016 against the 4th respondent, who is none other than the mother-in-law of the petitioner for offences under Sections 498(A), 406 and 506(i) IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Now, it is the grievance of the petitioner that the 4th respondent is harassing her and her children and therefore, she is seeking police protection.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) submitted that investigation in Crime No.28/2016 has been completed and chargesheet has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi in C.C.No.14/2017 under Sections 498(A), 406 and 506(ii) IPC and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act against the 4th respondent.

4.Under such circumstances, this Court directs the 2nd and 3rd respondents to ensure that no harm be caused to the petitioner and as and when there is any threat to the life and limb of the petitioner, the 2nd and 3rd respondents shall take suitable action to protect the petitioner.

5.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is closed.
