Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2. With the consent of both the parties, the main Writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.
3. In this Writ petition, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivagangai, had issued proceedings in favour of the Writ petitioner permitting him to cut and remove "Karuvela" trees in the petition mentioned tank, as he was the highest bidder in the auction conducted in this regard. The petitioner had also remitted the bid amount. But then, due to reasons set out in the representation as well as in the affidavit filed in support of the Writ petition, he could not complete the work of uprooting and removing the trees. Therefore, he has submitted application seeking extension of time. He was not granted such extension of time.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the Writ petitioner states that the second respondent can be directed to consider his fresh application for extension of time.
