O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to provide police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her properties situated in S.No.1125/6.

2. Heard the petitioner in person and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the State.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that she got certain properties pursuant to a Will that is said to have been executed by her deceased paternal aunt. It is her further allegation that one Jeyasing has created false documents in respect of the said https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

property and tried to usurp it. In this regard, on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.327 of 2016 was registered on 02.06.2016 under Sections 147, 294(B), 446, 427, 506 (I) and 379 IPC against Jeyasing and four others and the investigation is pending.

4. Now, it is the allegation of the petitioner that the accused in Crime no.327 of 2016 are threatening and intimidating her to withdraw the said complaint and therefore, she is before this Court, seeking protection for her life and limb.

5. In the considered opinion of this Court, it is the duty of the Police to protect a victim of a crime. Therefore, this Court directs the respondent police to ensure that no harm befalls the petitioner. As regards the request of the petitioner for expeditious investigation of the case in Crime No.327 of 2016, this Court directs the respondent police to expeditiously conduct investigation in Crime No.327 of 2016 and either file a closure report or final report, as the case may be on due intimation to the petitioner.
