(Order of the Court was made by C.T.SELVAM, J.) Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Special Government Pleader for respondents 1 to 5.

2. Petitioner seeks a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5, to restrain illegal water mining of 6th respondent and his men in the channel connecting the Mullai - Periyar Dam and Vaigai Dam on considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2018.

3. Considering the rival submissions and nature of the matter, we consider it appropriate to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.04.2018, on merits and proceed in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. The outcome of the representation of the petitioner may be intimated by the respondents to him.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
