Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order in Na.Ka.No.B1/43472/2021-3 dated 16.03.2022 on the file of the Respondent No.2 and quash the same as illegal and consequently for a direction, directing the Respondent No.2 to appoint the petitioner in the post of Grade II Police Constable within the time period stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

The petitioner herein challenges the non-selection of his candidature in the recruitment process for the post of Grade II Police Constable for the year 2020.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents submitted that since the petitioner's involvement in a criminal case, when he was a juvenile, was the reason for rejection, the respondents have favourably considered his candidature and have condoned his involvement on the ground that he was a juvenile at the relevant point of time. Accordingly, they have included his name in the further process of selection. The learned Additional Advocate General also produced a copy of the proceedings of the Superintendent of Police, Madurai, dated 2/4

23.08.2022, whereby, it is stated that the petitioner herein would be appointed to the post of Grade II Police Constable and will be sent for training along with the next batch of trainees.

3. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Advocate General, this Writ Petition stands closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
