This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of 1/5

Mandamus, seeking to direct the respondent to appoint the petitioner as Gangman in the examination conducted for recruitment to the post of Gangman in TANGEDCO as per the notification issued on 07.03.2019 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 26.02.2021. 2.The petitioner belonging to Scheduled Caste community, qualified 6th standard in Tamil Medium during 1994 - 1995. The respondent had issued a notification for recruitment for the post of Gangman in TANGEDCO to fill up 5,000 vacancies of Gangman in TANGEDCO. The petitioner made an application through online responding to the said notification. The respondent issued a hall ticket for direct recruitment for the post of Gangman in TANGEDCO to the petitioner vide hall ticket No.30010112532 and duly written examination was conducted on 15.03.2020 at K.L.

N College of Information Technology at Madurai. The petitioner had secured 63 out of 100 marks in the written examination conducted by the respondent and he was placed in Serial No.9221 in overall rank published on 22.05.2020. In the meanwhile, the vacancies were increasing to 10,000 numbers. The respondent having fill up the said vacancies still rank 9,000, further vacancies were kept without issuing appointment orders endlessly. Hence, the petitioner made a representation to the petitioner on 26.02.2021, requesting the respondent to appointment him in the post of Gangman, since he had been placed in Serial No.

list dated 22.02.2021. However, the same was not considered. 3.Despite giving sufficient opportunity to the learned counsel appearing for the respondent twice, she sought time for filing counter. 4.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and carefully perused the entire materials available on record. 5.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner drew my attention to the roster list dated 22.02.2021 issued by the respondent for direct recruitment for the post of Gangman (Trainee) in TANGEDCO 2019 - 2021 and a careful perusal of the same would reveal that the candidate namely M.Gunasekaran placed in Serial No.7462 of Scheduled Caste Tamil Medium category, who had scored only 48 marks has been given with appointment. He also drew my attention to yet another candidate M.Prasanth belonging to Scheduled Caste Tamil Medium category placed in Serial No.7512, who scored 47 marks being accommodated in the aforesaid list.

6.In view of the above, this Court hereby direct the respondent to forthwith issue appointment order to the petitioner. Accordingly, this 3/5
