ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner to install the statue of late Thiru Kamarajar, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in any one of the places mentioned in the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.03.2022, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2.The petitioner claims that he is the President of the aforementioned association. According to him, the said association was established for the welfare of the General Public in and around the Village. It is their case that they regularly conduct functions in the name of Late Kamarajar, the Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. According to him, they are desirous to erect a statue for Thiru.Kamarajar, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In such circumstances, they have given a representation on 28.03.2022, requesting permission from the respondents to install the statue of Thiru Kamarajar in any one of the places mentioned in the representation of the petitioner. Since the said representation has not been been considered till date, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3.Heard Mr.M.Thangadurai, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner in support of his contentions has placed before this Court an order, dated 03.02.2020, passed by the another learned Single Judge of this Court in W.P. (MD).No.26748 of 2019, seeking for a similar relief. 5.No prejudice will be caused to the respondents, if the representation of the petitioner is considered on merits and in accordance with law. The petitioner seeks for installation of a statue for Late Thiru Kamarajar, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in any one of the places mentioned in his representation. 6.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 28.03.2022, seeking permission for installation of a statue for Late Thiru Kamarajar, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in any one of the places mentioned in the representation and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
