The petitioner's family is doing service to the deity Lord Kalamega Perumal, Arulmigu Kalamega Perumal Thirukovil, Thirumogur for more than 100 years. Initially, the petitioner's great grand father, by name Periya Thiruvadi Iyengar was doing the service. Thereafter, the petitioner's father Srinivasa Iyengar has rendered service to the deity and at present the petitioner is doing the service. The petitioner claims that he has suffered a stroke and therefore he is not able to do service and therefore, he wants to convey the service to his son-in law and submitted a representation to the respondents on 07.02.2024. Since the respondents have not considered the petitioner's representation, he has filed this writ petition seeking a Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to permit the petitioner's son in law for doing service(Sthanigam Thiruppani Seivar) to the deity of Arulmighu Kalamega Perumal Temple, Thirumogur.

2.Mr.P.Subba Raj, learned Special Government Pleader takes notices for the first respondent. Mr.S.Manohar, learned counsel takes notice for the second respondent and submits that the right of Sthanigam Thiruppani can be conferred only after consultation with the first respondent and other Sthanigars, for which, they require some time to take a decision on the petitioner's representation. 3.This Court considered the rival submissions made and also perused the materials placed on record.
4.The petitioner claims that their family is doing service to the deity of Arulmighu Kalamega Perumal Temple for more than 100 years. Now the petitioner has suffered with certain ailments. Since the petitioner is not having any male heir, he wants to convey the Sthanigam service to his son-in-law, by name V.Gopal, as a representative of their family to continue the service, which is in practice for more than 100 years.

5.In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of this petitioner in consultation with the first respondent and other Sthanigars and take a decision as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
