Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the impugned closure letter issued by the first respondent in File No. MD2074016967722 dated 29.11.2023 and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the first respondent to renew/re-issue the petitioner's passport bearing No. H2622406 by considering the petitioner's re-issue application No. 22-1002543931 dated 08.03.2022 within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner's application for issuance of passport has been closed. The petitioner is permitted to apply afresh before the first respondent.

3. The learned Government Advocate clarifies that there is no case pending against the petitioner. In earlier case filed against the petitioner, action has been dropped. As and when the petitioner files a fresh application, it shall be processed and the passport shall be issued to the petitioner subject to the fulfilment of other usual formalities.

4. This Writ Petition is allowed accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
