ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for police protection to his life and limb of the petitioner by considering his representation dated 28.11.2018.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a contractor by profession. He has participated in the tender cum public auction conducted by the Sub Collector, Devakottai for cutting removing Juliflora trees in Survey No.101/1, 60, 49, 168, 166 and 177 in Vairavanpatti Village, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District. The public auction took place and the petitioner stood as highest bidder and auction was confirmed in his favour. He further submitted that on 25.11.2018 at about 09.00 a.m, when the petitioner along with workers were about to cut the trees in village Kanmai, at the instigation of 4th respondent 20 persons formed an unlawful assembly and surrounded the petitioner and prevented them from cutting the trees. lakhs from the petitioner and threatened them with dire consequences. The petitioner had given a representation to the respondents 1 to 3. But sofar, no action has been taken. 3.The third respondent is directed to give necessary protection at the time of cutting the removing the Juliflora trees. 4.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
